Remote Overdrive is an Android app that controls a Windows PC over the local network (WiFi), and optionally from outside that network through the Wake-on-WAN feature. This policy describes what data it collects, what it uses it for, and who it shares it with.
To work, Remote Overdrive needs to store as little as possible:
| Data | What it's used for |
|---|---|
| Anonymous account ID | Generated by the device, no sign-up with a name or email required. Identifies your active subscription. |
| PC hardware identifier | Links your account to the paired PC, so the control entitlement can't be used from another account. |
| Google Play purchase token | Validated against Google's servers to confirm your subscription is active. |
| PC's MAC address, local IP, public IP and port | Only if you turn on Wake-on-WAN (Remote Cloud plan) — needed to send the PC the signal that wakes it from outside your network. |
None of this includes your real name, email address, or phone number — Remote Overdrive has no sign-up of its own. Your purchase is handled by Google Play with your Google account, not by us.
The app requests camera permission solely to scan the QR code that pairs the phone with the agent installed on your PC. No photos are taken, no video is recorded, and no image is saved — the camera is used only at the moment of the scan.
Controlling the PC (volume, shutdown, closing apps, text macros, etc.) travels directly between your phone and the agent installed on your PC, within your local WiFi network, end-to-end encrypted. That communication does not pass through our servers.
The only exception is Wake-on-WAN: since the PC is off or suspended, there's no way to contact it directly, so the "wake" signal travels through our backend to a relay that sends the corresponding network packet.
Remote Overdrive does not collect:
Remote Overdrive does not sell data to anyone. The data needed to operate the app is processed through these providers, acting as data processors:
None of these providers use your data for advertising. Remote Overdrive shows no ads and uses no third-party tracking or analytics tools.
Pairing between the phone and the agent uses the app's own encrypted channel, not a public API. The hardware identifier is never silently reassigned to another account — if we detect a conflict, the app blocks it instead of overwriting it.
You can stop using Wake-on-WAN at any time; the network data stored for that feature (MAC, IP, port) stays associated with your PC while the feature remains active. If you want us to delete your data completely (account, link to your PC, Wake-on-WAN data), write to us at contacto@javo0o.net and we'll do it manually.
Remote Overdrive is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
If we add new features that change what data we process, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
